Good news for those of you running 2011 Sony Xperia handsets, Sony
Mobile has just certified a new Android 4.0.4 firmware update for six
handsets. The new firmware version number of 4.1.B.0.587 will replace
the current 4.1.B.0.431 that brought Android 4.0.4 to the 2011 Xperia
range.
The lucky six handsets include the Xperia active, Xperia arc, Xperia mini pro, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V and Xperia Pro. However, we’d expect this same firmware to hit all 2011 Xperia handsets bar the Xperia PLAY. Therefore, Xperia arc S, Xperia mini and Xperia ray users shouldn’t be up in arms just yet. The reason it is not showing yet is most likely down to a delay in the certification hitting the PTCRB website. We would imagine that this update will bring mainly bug fixes. We’ll bring you more information as we have it.
