Samsung Galaxy S3 Recovery Mode
and Downloading Mode is a special mode that gives developers access or
modify Android OS administrative functions, such as Factory Reset, Clear Cache Data, Flash new Custom ROM, System Backup and Restore. Samsung stock Recovery Mode only allow user to Factory Reset and Clear Cache Data, so you need to manually install ClockWorkMode (CWM) to perform more functions especially flash new custom ROM (.zip file ).
Other than ClockWorkMode (CWM) Recovery, now you can also use Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) for your rooted Galaxy S3.
TWRP is a free application and only support to international Galaxy S3,
GTi9300. Compare to ClockWorkMode (CWM) Recovery, i think that TWRP
more easy to use as the UI was designed and function navigation style is
simple and support touch screen features. Besides this, i also found
that TWRP performance in each task such as backup is stable and more
faster.
