Last week, we have shared and briefly introduced with you the info about IOIO board for Android.
This USB-connected I/O breakout interface board for Android smartphones
and tablets is useful as can be use to control electronic devices,
sensor and more. Before we go into software control development part,
let us gather and setup the Android IOIO Board.
The board needs to
be powered through the VIN pin by 5V-15V power supply with at least 1A
of current. The power VIN can be connect to the Vin pin or JST
connector footprint on the bottom of the board.
Be careful, the
“3.3v” and “5v” not is Power in or Vin pin. Both of this are the Voltage
out pin, as we can use it for control or supply voltage to external devices or component such as LED, servo Motor and others.
Then the remain pin,
pin 1 until pin 48 is IO pin. These pin includes pin for I2C clock, Isc
data, peripheral in, peripheral I/O and analog in. Photos below are my
IOIO board for Android.
Ok, that all about the hardware part. We will discuss how to flash the firmware and boot loader into the IOIO for Android MCU.
