Nokia unleashed Nokia500

Nokia unleashed its first Symbian-based smartphone running on 1GHz processor, Nokia 500. The handset is based on the current version of Symbian OS, Anna.

Sized 111.3 x 53.8 x 14.1mm, the weigh of the handset is, 93 grams and comes with a changeable back covers. The device supports a 3.2-inch capacitive touch display with a screen resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, Nokia 500 also has a 5 megapixel camera that can be also used for video recording.


The phone is said to be a low cost smart phone which can be availed in various colors. The handset is also pre-installed with the latest version of Nokia Maps for free drive and walk navigation. The device has a price tag of 9500


The handset has a music player with FM and internet radio. It also carries a Social app that informs users with all social media updates directly to the users homescreen.

The smartphone is equipped with 2GB memory which can be expanded up to 32GB with micro-SD card, there is Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi b/g, 3.5 mm jack and microUSB port for connectivity.

The smartphone's battery offers a 5-7 hours talktime, 450+ hours standby and up to 35 hours of music playback. Nokia 500 is expected to hit the markets in the third quarter of this year.
