Kitkat 4.4.2 for Sony Ericsson Xperia X8

Some of you may remember when Sony smartphones were still branded Sony-Ericsson, and when the OEM offered a long list of devices. These devices included the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro, which proved to be a commercial success despite their locked bootloaders.

Now, over 3 years since release, Xperia X8 users are able to try out KitKat.As it’s an initial release and due to some technical difficulties, a list of bugs is quite long. As you would expect various features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, auto brightness, and of course the camera need some polishing to work correctly. Considering the fact that the Xperia X8 was one of the first Android devices released by Sony Ericsson and how official CyanogenMod support was dropped with version 7.1, having an unofficial version of KitKat is a big achievement.

If you still use your Xperia X8 or have it collecting dust in a drawer, try out Kitkat on this lovely device.
