Android 4.1.2 is the latest Android OS that added with some new features in the Camera and Photo Gallery. This latest firmware available for Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and LG Nexus 4. For the Android 4.1.2 OTA update, Google is currently rolling out to some Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S models. So, when my Galaxy S3 will get this latest firmware update?
Samsung still no give any hints that when will official roll out Android 4.1.2 for Galaxy devices such as Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3. From the previous tutorial, we have discuss on how to install Android 4.1.2 Camera application and Photo Gallery into Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.
Today, I have try to
flashed Android 4.1.2 custom ROM into my Galaxy S3 GTi9300. This custom
ROM is ROOTBOX that base on Android 4.1.2 firmware was develop by XDA Developer member- Bajee11. Here is step by step tutorial:
Step1 : Your Galaxy S3 must get Root access and install CWM Recovery. You can refer tutorial here on how to root Galaxy S3. Step flashing this custom ROM will wide all your phone data, so made a proper backup before proceed to step as below.
Step2 : Download Android 4.1.2 RootBox Jelly Beam custom ROM and gapps from the developer link. Then place this downloaded custom ROM and gapps into Galaxy S3 external storage.
Step3: Power off your Galaxy S3.
Step4: Boot into Recovery Mode by press the Power Button + Volume Up Button +Home Button.
Step5: Now you are boot into CWM Recovery Mode. Then you need perform Wipe cache partition, wipe data and factory reset.
Step6: Now,
go to install zip from SDCard > Choose zip from SDCard > Root
Box JB i9300 V3.2.zip > Yes – Install RootBox-JB-i9300-V3.2.zip.
Step 7: The flashing process is start.
Step 8:
After the custom ROM completely flash into Galaxy S3. Then, go to
install zip from SDCard > Choose zip from SDCard >
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip > Yes – Install
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip.
Step 9: Reboot your phone after installation complete.
