Facebook: Google+ is not innovative

By
Google+, a two month old social networking site has been condemned by a senior Facebook executive stated that it lacks originality and users. Even the software developers have no great interest in developing applications for Google+
Google+ launched in the month of June which introduced features like video chat which was not present in Facebook. Later facebook announced about bringing chat feature in their site with the collaboration of Microsoft's Skype. Google proclaimed about introducing games like Zynga poker and Angry Birds. The very next day Facebook unveils some amazing improvement in news feeds, game updates and high resolution gaming.

The Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg is very keen about the Google+ features and applications. Sean Ryan, the director of Facebook game partnerships feels that Google+ is just trying to make an advanced copy of their site as they do have all rights to do that and now Facebook has to work to make their site better. He refers to the company making money from the virtual games like Farmville and words with friends in which players pay for the goods purchased in the games. Currently, Facebook reportedly takes 30 percent from game developers, whereas Google takes just 5 percent as they don't have many users. So Google's motive is to increase the users by introducing better games.

The rivals are fighting by improving game application in their sites as global virtual goods market is the largest revenue stream for the casual game maker which is expected to get doubled to $20.3 Billion by 2014. When the demand for these games increased it was especially among the middle aged woman in Midwest. This associates a lot of advertising dollars.

Despite of Google making a good start, it has not affected the demand for Facebook. The mainstream Facebook users are still sticking to it. Facebook is now all worried about the new users as they may start preferring Google+. It's not the time for Facebook to react but become more aggressive.
Google+ has around 25 million registered users and Facebook has 750 million users. So the war of the rivals will prevail till the final
